I'm telling you guys, Bistro Italia is delicious. But it's out of the way if you don't live around Coursey/Jones Creek etc. It's mostly a dine in restaurant so a pizza is like $23 too but it's very good.

They had cut down on the toppings, but when they first opened up you would order a pepperoni and sausage and not even see the pepperoni or cheese because of the whole top layer of that crumbled sausage.
A sampler pizza was like 3" tall. Loved that fricking place.

I know you already picked but as a pizza fan I figured I would add my 2 cents. I would say Red Zeppelin is the best local place in town concerning pizza and atmosphere. Gattis is the shite especially if you’re balling on a budget. Johnny’s is 318 31Great. Motzas near LSU does a good job of simulating the old Mellow Mushroom with the doughy crust. There are a lot of places like Lit, Jabby’s and Hive that go with the make your own in and out atmosphere. And there are many other quality local pizzerias in Baton Rouge, to the point where you shouldn’t need to go to a chain.
Fleur de Lis only gets press because it’s old, and people think that must mean it’s good. The restaurant is sketchy as hell, I’ve seen roaches there, they don’t take credit card, and they act like it’s your privilege to eat their mediocre pizza.
