There's a spending formula, we'll call it the Buc-ee's Multiplier (BM), that accurately captures my spend every single time. It goes likes this: If I am in the store for 10 minutes or less, I'll spend roughly a $1 a minute while I am in there. Once I've been in there longer than 10 minutes, my spend rate goes up to about $5 per each additional minute.
I usually walk in the door to hit up the restroom. If I am taking a dump there the BM is going to kick in during this trip because I'm already casually taking my time. Then I walk over and grab some type of breakfast or lunch item. It never fails, I'll grab a sandwich and start slowly walking to the cash register and something will either catch my eye, or I'll remember there is some special occasion coming up such as my wife's birthday. Next thing you know, my hands are full and conveniently this little red shopping cart is stationed right where I am walking. So I grab a cart and next thing you know, I've bought everyone in the family some new Buc-ee's Hawaiian shirt that we'll all wear once, but it sure felt right while I was in the store.
I don't know what is an acceptable spend, I just know that there's timing threshold where my rate of spend skyrockets compared to the first few minutes of being in the store.

I've visited Buc-ee's a couple of times.
I've concluded that driving past that place saves me a fortune. So I try to avoid it.

“What’s the acceptable amount of money to spend at bucees?”
Hurrrdurrrrrrr…. Are you 12? Why you need the internet’s approval and validation for something so fricking stupid
The Internet and access to endless info was supposed to make us smarter, yet as a society, we’ve taken about 13 steps backwards

I try to stay under $40, but it's not easy!

Went once and spent $100. Haven't been back, but the food was good. Glad I guess I live 45 minutes away.

If I'm at bucees, it means I'm on vacation. Any amount is acceptable

As much as you feel comfortable spending.

I’m usually good for a few hundred bucks. $100 diesel, case of beer, food for the road, jerky, ice and 20 to 40 bags of corn.

I don’t know, but I just bought about a dozen colorized Trump two dollar bills for about $200. They are probably only worth about $5, but they are funny as hell. They used Trump’s glaring mug shot. I’m going to give them to some of my friends.

I have 3 kids. They are un-spoiled, content kids......so every year on the way to the beach I let them go nuts. Usually $2-300 to get out of there, and worth every penny.
