1980 is the common cutoff between Gen X and Millenial. I'm born in 1980 so I claim Gen X. When did Gen Y get fazed out?

I honestly think it varies. I'm 28 and the difference between me/my friends and those 18-24 or so is pretty damn big. It varies regionally as well IMO, especially politically.

I really believe that while everyone views millenials as super liberal, it'll change over time. There are just a shite TON of millenials and we're way more visible than previous gens due to media these days. The old saying, "if you're under 30 and not liberal you have no heart, over 30 and liberal you have no brain," is true.

1987 and same. The way millenials are defined as the first "digital generation" really fricks things up. 80s babies are pretty different from early 90's babies.

I don't know what the cutoff should be but I do know that I was raised old school. My dad was a hardass and I love him for it.

It's supposedly 1980-2000 but I call BS because I can't relate to anyone born after 1990. Sorry.

ETA: I think it should be more of a mindset than an actual age, because I know some people 40+ who are social media weirdos: selfies, tweeting, facebook obsessed.

Also I'm laughing at how everybody is checking in this thread saying they aren't one. No one thinks they act like a millennial.

I feel like if you remember getting the Internet for the first time you probably aren't a millennial, but if the Internet is something that was just always there, you probably are a millenial.

Just loading porn pictures took forever. I honestly feel like porn drove the internet to progress because of that

IMO the cutoff should be if you grew up with widespread internet access. I think that changed the attitudes of people and shaped the millennial generation into what they are.

Apparently no one on the OT is a millenial, Bc the OT just fricking redefined what a generation is. A "mindset"? You don't want to be a millenial so you're not? What the hell is that? Just go ahead and claim to be in the Greatest Generation then.

What a millenial way to think.
