Asset forfeiture- the ability of a govt to legally steal everything you own without criminal accusation, trial, or conviction.

Not to be too alarmist but it's probably something in these categories

Talk to people in England, especially in anti-Tory parts, and they scoff at the idea of weapon ownership and are aghast at the concept that you should be legally able to say anything that could be perceived as remotely bigoted

Driving 56 MPH on the Interstate Highway System. Driving to Pensacola on I-10 from BR used to take two days. Three if the tunnel was backed-up.

ETA: Wait, I'm confused. The double-negative in your Q is throwing me off. Did I not answer incorrectly?

Unless they use a military to disarm the population, guns will be here for a very long time.

Yeah this is definitely going to be illegal in the future. Great post, Chris.

Single use plastics.

On a similar note, our usage of fossil fuels will seem as outdated to them as burning coal for fuel seems right now.

Is it? I don’t think they’ll be horrified by Koscher slaughters or hunting, but the way we treat chickens and pigs? Yeah, I think it’s kind of fricked up now, so to them it will be unspeakably atrocious. Once we’re able to genetically grow steaks and chicken breasts, then the slaughter house is going the way of the poodle.

Our inability to track ownership transfers and sales makes confiscation nearly impossible. I sold all of mine to a guy named Jimmy in a Walmart parking lot. All completely legal I might add.
