I do not get it. What is so special other than getting drunk? What is with the beads and why are they valuable to people literally and actually fight for them? Why are so called "movie stars" excited to be part of this garbage?

We get it you don’t like Mardi Gras. It’s not my favorite thing either but I don’t let it keep me from enjoying myself with my friends.

I mean, I don’t get your fascination with being a brony, but I don’t start threads about it.

it is a family holiday--the French Quarter being the exception.

I haven't been to a parade on Fat Tuesday in years. We do make one or two during the season somewhere most years.

I am think of trying out Houma this year.

You just haven't found your place at Mardi Gras yet. Head down below St Ann street and you will feel more at home.

You don't have a clue what Mardi Gras is about if you think it's all about beads and getting drunk.

King cakes are good and its a couple of days off of work where you can eat Popeye's and drink beer at 9am. What other reason could you possibly need?

Throw free shite, anything you'd like, at a group of lower middle class folks and you'll see the same behavior.

Of course it is, that's what makes it so great

FTR...I love MG just as much as I love Jazz Fest...both are equally as trashy as each other.
