Northern CA.
Power company intends to shut off power on windy days. One fire last year apparently due to line and wind. Most of the big fires were by individuals. Dragging muffler. River/ranch from copper shell during target practice. A motorcycle down. The fire that raced from Calistoga to santa Rosa is the one blamed on the power company.
I need to power two refrigerators.
TIA

Just in case you are ever interested in the loudest generator, its Troy Bilt.

Solar panels or windmill. Both are totally quiet.

Honda is certainly the quiet answer and has the advantage of clean inverter based output. That said they are EXPENSIVE especially when you need to handle the simultaneous startup of two compressors.
If I was in your situation I would seriously look at whole house generators.

I think TD.com's hamsters are fairly quiet. Perhaps you can inquire how to obtain some over on the help board.

As the others say, the Honda is the pretty clearcut leader in quiet technology. You will need to size the unit based on the power requirements of what you want to run on it...there is a plate somewhere on every appliance that tells the power draw.
Something to consider is how you will keep your generator in working condition. I suggest a bit of non-ethanol gasoline every 6 months and just run the generator until it runs out of gasoline. You can't leave gasoline in cans or the generator for too long or you will frick things up.

How many watts is the generator you will be needing?

Yamaha ef6300.
It's an inverter. Will run in the high 50s low 60s db depending on load.
I have one for the home and camp.
3400ish if you shop around.

If he likes meth, it's a win win.
The area I drove through were basically Livingston parish x1000.
ETA: with tall trees and drunk/high Indians for culcha.

Honda for sure, but it has to be the EU inverter series. There are some Honda industrial series generators that are as loud as your average Briggs powered generator.

If this is going to be fairly common, you need to be talking to a Generac dealer. They'll run on natural gas from the utility (you'll likely have to install a larger service to feed the generator or they'll run from a private tank.
Either way, your whole house runs.

The smaller ones are similar in price installed to the high wattage inverter types like Honda. The biggest bonus is setting them up to switch on automatically so you don't have to be home and you don't have to deal with setting up and firing up.
