Imagine you’re a kid sitting in a classroom doing your schoolwork.
Then suddenly you start sweating, your heart rate goes up and you lose concentration. You feel like this impending doom is going to happen and you’re going to lose all control.
Nothing triggered it that you know of. It just happened. That’s what ppl with anxiety go through and it’s hell.
These attacks would come out of nowhere while i was doing anything. Could be sitting at work, pumping gas, walking my dog or taking my morning shite. There was no common denominator. It was hell.

Have you talked to a professional? If so, what did they tell you and how are they treating it?

Focus on your current issue and stop worrying about me.
That’s part of your therapy.
You’re one fricked up individual aren’t you?

Weak parents that watched too many John Hughes movies in the 80's.
You guys know who you are.

Seriously, and I'm not being a dick here, do you have a reading disability or something?

Eventually after talk therapy wasn't improving the anxiety I was referred to a psychiatrist who diagnosed GAD (general anxiety disorder) and mild depression. He subscribed a medication that's been amazing.

Ah I see. That's why you didn't ask that at all.

What medication did I they prescribe?

That’s kind of a personal question don’t you think?

Prestique for depression and then a beta blocker for the anxiety. I don't take them daily anymore. Usually every 2-3 days. I went out of town for 5 days last month and left them and about day 3.5 the anxiety symptoms really started coming back. Kinda ruined the week.

How is it any more personal than anything he’s already shared? I’d also be interested to know what caused his anxiety problem as well. Like what was the root issue that started it all.

I've been there. I ended up going to the ER thinking I was having a heart attack. They hooked up the EKG leads and began drawing blood. Everything came back normal. I felt silly.
