What is a “hole?”

Can you define what a hole truly is?
Can a hole be removed from an object?
Take for instance….
I have this cookie jar. It obviously has a hole in it. The top is an open circle that I can stick something through to the other side. If I stored a liquid in the jar, then flipped it upside down (with no lid on it), the liquid would empty out of the hole.
Now imagine if I took that jar and was able to shape it and mold it into a drinking glass
Now into a bowl
How about a plate?
Does the plate still have a “hole?” If not, where did it go?
Furthermore, based on your individual definition of “hole,” how many holes would you say the human body has?
