Sometimes, nocturnal thunderstorms form south of Grand Isle during summer and you can see the lightening over 80 miles away.

I grew up with 80s movies about nuclear war, nuclear war with Russia, and countless doomsday fiction on tv/movies/books. I see clouds like this and always think some bomb just dropped
