You are 100% correct. The fact that so many people are ignorant of how politicians and especially democrats operate is why Washington is the way it is.
It’s the same old thing with them like clockwork
1. Think of a virtuous bill
2. Load it full of stuff having nothing to do with that thing, to the point where they know most republicans won’t vote for it.
3. Point the finger at republicans and say what terrible people they are for not voting for it
4. Rinse and repeat.

someone got their talking points email on this topic. No one has a problem with financially aiding Vets, the problem is the unmitigated pork snuck into the bill that politicians have a problem with.
