Go to rendering plant - at least here. Used to live near one and when was right (or wrong I guess) it sucked arse

In Tennessee, Fisheries and Wildlife will take overnight deer in and have them butchered for folks who are needly.In the mountains in Virginia, you'll see deer hit by cars and the deer have had their back legs removed neatly.

Over a mile from us is a huge island with a rather impressive buzzard colony and nobody lives nearby, by choice.

Smaller critters: possums, 'coons, neighbor dogs (will drag in really ripe carcasses and roll on them for days), and crows as well as buzzards.

I disagree. The crested caracara (also known as Mexican eagle) mostly eats carrion. It's a member of the falcon family, but acts more like a vulture.

Sometimes the county highway dept moves it.
Crows, vultures, and other scavengers eat the carcass also.
