Randomly just saw a video on Instagram, said an underground transformer caught fire and they had to close down a few blocks

Probably because the events that cause said floods would otherwise take out the above ground utilities every other week lmao.

Fun fact not every part of the city sits below sea level. If I am not mistaken most of the French Quarter was high and dry for Katrina, half the CBD had less than 3 feet and the Magazine street corridor between downtown and Zoo evaded flooding.
