Yeah, people buy them and don't pay a guy a couple hundred bucks to come check it out once or twice a year.
THEN wonder why they crap out in a crisis. Penny wise, pound foolish.

Honda all the way baby. 7000 inverter, fuel injection, low power mode, sips gas and purrs like a kitten it's so quiet I've come home several times and thought it was off... ![](https://www.campingworld.com/dw/image/v2/BCJK_PRD/on/demandware.static/-/Sites-global-master-catalog/default/dwaa305404/images/large/081958_1.jpg?sw=600&sh=600&sm=fit)

love those
but the price is a bit much for me
but if they made them capable of running on natural gas it would be totally worth it for me

Ran a Honda 3000 inverter.
Same, ran a Honda 3000 inverter. It ran my entire camper with 13kbtu ac, fridge, tvs, music, etc. I'd turn the AC off and run the chestfreezer in my garage. Moved family to camper for 5 days. Overall worked out pretty well...even had wifi. Could have used another generator or second 3k inverter but it worked.

Love it! It’s quiet and reliable. I’ve had it for roughly 3 years and don’t regret a single minute that I had to spend 14k to get it. I’ve only had to change the battery since I got it. I also get it serviced annually.

Ha, law firm in Thibodaux is trying to put together a class action lawsuit against generac.

good luck. all generac is going to have to do is show in 99% of the cases the plantiff didnt follow the maintenance. then they are going to show on thier website where the air cooled engines are not recommended for warm climates. and finally they are going to pull the data from the computer on the ones suing and show ambient temp and load were way over what they have listed.

You’ve posted this twice. I don’t see anywhere in the manual or specs where it’s not recommended in higher temps. The manual does state that they are rated for use -20 to 122 deg f and that there may be a decrease in power when operated above 77 deg.
I feel like if they were “not recommend”, that would be a bigger deal and more people would know about that. That would also put all the companies selling them on the hook as well.
ETA: I just did a “build” for my house in the Thibodaux area code on their website and the three that were recommended were air cooled versions.

Cost an arm and a leg but every time I fire it up and can;t hear it in the house I think it was worth every penny.

Not true. The units have high-temp shutdown for both engine temperature and oil temperature. It will not just self-destruct. In addition, the only guidance mentioned for high ambient temperatures is the the output decreases by 1% for every 10 degrees above 60F ambient temperature.
Here's a snippet from the spec sheet:

The G-Force series engines are purpose built and designed to handle the rigors of extended run times in high temperatures and extreme operating conditions.

The new generators are the shite.
Y’all in the storms path. Don’t forget. FEMA will give you a disbursement of 500 cash.
They will give you a reimbursement of 800 for a generator and 250 for a chain saw
As far as I know, this is just a rumor.
My wife was on it from the very beginning since we know the process and how all this shite show Works having dealt with it through Katrina.
We were denied the $500. I don't understand how other people got it. She was told that the $800 generator reimbursement is only if you have a proven medical need for power. She didn't ask about $250 for the chainsaw.

This may be weird, but I love the hum of a generator in the background while sleeping/going to bed. Reminds me of camping or being at a hunting/fishing camp.

it was on a document i saw a while back. have to see if i can find it. generac derates the air cooled at 77 degrees and anything above 600 feet in elevation.
as far as the website goes...no idea. my point though was good luck suing them.

Yamaha EF4500. Bought it before Katrina... has over 700 hours on it. Never changed the oil in it, just add it occasionally. Never had a single problem with it other than a dead battery.
Cummins 12KW diesel in my RV. The generator flew apart on it throwing magnet shrapnel all inside the case. It was unfixable and $13000 to replace (fortunately under warranty).
