I've won a few bets by betting people I can grab the blade as it deploys to stop it from locking out.

Unbeknownst to them I stabbed myself a good 10x before I got the timing right.

I have, on occasion, had to run outside of certain places to hide one for later retrieval due to metal detectors. Ohhh, the horror of an Old Timer or Swiss Army 2" blade knife!

I have inadvertently given young people across the globe gifts from their uncle because I forgot to put my pocket knife in my carry on

I carry a small kershaw knife. Sharp and easy to manipulate. I use it for work and carry almost all of the time. Pocket knives are useful tools to carry. Anyone who says otherwise is a useless tool.

I’ve always carried one. My grandfather’s old Henry. What’s the big deal?

Plus don't forget the lifetime warranty on parts. Something breaks or falls off your Kershaw just fill out an online form and they ship the parts at no charge. I just rebuilt my Kershaw for the second time with this. Awesome company.

And hey OP, men haven't stopped carrying pocket knives — just the useless types have.

I have never stopped carrying a knife except when I fly. I was taught to carry one in scouts and find that it is useful to have.

You're a useful man, just like the rest of the knife wielding population.. including myself.

I have that same knife. It is my favorite (EDC) ever. I got it as a groomsman's gift.

For anyone looking for a solid inexpensive one, I also have the CRKT Squid. It was $30 and is a really great little knife for that price.

You can stop the DA versions but I wouldn't try that with the SA models. I have a custom ARS SA OTF and the spring driving that blade is no joke.

I carry one but have found that it needs to be a small knife that I can attach to my key ring so I won't lose it. I use it mostly for opening packages.
