When I was a kid you heard about them attacking people or a nest being found. Remember it being on my mind every time I went into the woods that I needed to be careful not to stumble upon a hive. Was this something that the news hyped to get views? Haven't heard a thing about them in a good while.

It's one of those "quicksand" things. . . You worry way more about it as a kid when it's not even a consideration in your life. . . ever.

“Africanized” was the term that was used to describe the hybrid angry bees.

I chortle to think of it now.

Chortle.

There is the original clan which had the 9 members, then the Killa Beez. It's like the Wu Tang Clan affiliates. No one really knows how many members is in it because it changes all the time, but there's more than a hundred rappers and crews.

One sat out the whole year, became a FA and signed with the Jets
One forced a trade and has gone off the deep end since.
One stayed, but got hurt and is out for the season

Props for bringing this up, I had forgotten all about them.

Some interesting tidbits:

quote:

On 11 September 2007, Commissioner Bob Odom of the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry said that Africanized honey bees established themselves in the New Orleans area.

quote:

The most common way that a European hive will become Africanized is through cross-breeding during a new queen's mating flight.

^^
