Trump hasn't changed America. Trump is a symptom of the change.

Although i'm unsure if this is anything but a troll or you're really this stupid, but i'll indulge...
What, exactly, were Mike Brown's rights in that situation? Did he have the right to violently rob a store and attempt to take a police officer's weapon and not get shot?

Having a socialist in the White House for 8 years, and globalists for 24 years before that.

I'd say mass shootings.
During this time you had Sandy Hook, Aurora Theater shooting, there was a shooting in a Lafayette Theater (only 2 people were killed several injured. Including a friend of mine's husband's sister. She was in Lafayette for some teacher thing, she decided she was going to wait until the morning to go home while the others left that afternoon. She decided to go to the movies, she was by herself and got shot in the leg. She had to go through a lot of therapy. After it happened, it didn't really bother her for the first few months, then all of a sudden she couldn't sleep at night, she would have panic attacks, etc.. but I think the guy who did the shooting had gone to a theater in Baton Rouge days before going to the one in Lafayette.. And for whatever reason decided to randomly start shooting in Lafayette).
And well, yall are familiar with the rest of them.. But the amount of mass shootings in the last 10 years increased rapidly.

That might be the most “Chris” post ever.

The economic crash of 2008. That set in motion the events that led to an overall Republican fatigue in America, which led to the election of President Obama. That led to a sharp decline in race relations, which led to more racism, which led to President Obama taking sides during police shootings, which led to riots across thee country, which led to Americans getting fed up with Democrats, which led to the election of Donald Trump.
Without the economic downturn of 2008, Donald Trump would not have been elected President of the United States of America.
History is an enormous line of dominoes.
Nothing else is really even close.
There are tons and tons of events that are secondarily related to the economic crash:
- Obama election
- Trump election
- sharp rise in income and wealth inequality
- a whole hell of a lot of the problems in Europe
- opioid epidemic
- chronic underemployment for Millennials
- etc, etc

If you would have said 2000-2018, I would have said the 2000 election.
I think a lot of the very deep divisions in this country really ramped up after 2000.

I agree. That was really the start of politics becoming almost a team sport. Red vs. Blue.

Also smartphones and social media. The iphone came out when? The summer of 2007? It took about a year or two before "everyone" had one.. And then that changed everything. People could access social media from their phones, etc.

Here is a WBW article that gives a good explanation how social media is turning this generation into giant pussies.
