What does the Dove ad's message with "Black men care about black women"?

Not going to link it to give them extra hits, but the ad is essentially like a BLM type ad with black guys making a few statements, one being Black men care about black women".
What message are they trying to convey?
Segregation? Care for "under privileged"?

Apparently that they don’t frickin care about their stock value bc Gillette should have been a cautionary tale.

Cause middle aged white male taxpayers are the devil.

You just have to wonder who their target demographic is. Black women who know the message is a lie? Black men who could not care less about the message right along with white men? White women? How does trying to convince white women that black men suddenly care about black women put more soap in their grocery carts?
Posted on 10/24/20 at 6:20 pm to Priapus
Of all the groups you mentioned, white women are the ones most likely to respond positively.

Black women be like: why we still single then?

Single motherhood among blacks shows that statement is not very true

It’s NBA players IIRC
I don’t understand the point of the message either

They are obviously marketing to black women.
Black women want black men to care about them, so a soap that affirms that desire is more likable.
Interpretation: Dove is making a conscious move to the cheap market - bargain shelf for soap.

How are we supposed to know seeing as you refuse to link it.

Why is a soap ad about black lives matter anyway? It’s soap. Tell me why I want your soap. It’s like they think virtue signaling sells soap

It undoubtedly does, to the right market.
This is the opposite of Gillette, who chose to vilify it’s biggest market - men.

One would think that instead of wasting their efforts on bullshite, they would be trying to make inroads into the 1.3 billion strong population of India, who could clearly benefit from any association with their product line.

This is the silliest trend and is just as much virtue signaling as Dove or Tampax are doing. Don’t start a thread and not link to the thing you’re talking about

I dont know but I am going to stop buying their products because I am outraged.

Ray Rice and Chris Brown would put a Dove bar in a sock and swing it at their heads

You’d think.
I understand ad companies are trying to target certain audiences as they’ve always done. But damn, this recent fixation on race is just so corrosive to a peaceful prosperous society.

Why do you care?
I know it’s self satisfying to be nonchalant about everything and pretend nothing affects you, but this obsessive fixation on race is dangerous. It builds up and will bubble over.

Pretty sure a disproportionate amount of black men don't care about black women or the children they have with them
