yeah it's pretty damn gay. i will admit to using an occasional exclamation point in a work/professional setting or flirting with a girl. very rare.
im applying for jobs and shite and i may end an e-mail with something like "I hope to hear from you soon!" or a similarly kiss arse statement.
i cant think of an example for texting a girl, but ive done it a time or two. maybe like "I told you so!" about some playful argument or something.

I constantly use them when trying to convey context in text messages. I text customers all day and sometimes it can get really confusing trying to read how they are saying something, because of that I try to always leave no doubt of what I am saying and how.

I use them occasionally, but I always feel gay when I do it.
I shouldn't feel gay because it's fricking grammar, but somewhere along the way chicks used too many "!" and it became a bit girly to use correct punctuation.
