I love the idea of a metal building home. I’ve heard the financing for them can be tricky but they’re supposed to be much cheaper. I’ve tried to do a lot of research on them but info is hard to come by.
I’d like to learn more about their durability, insurability, and financing options.

Were about to start building ours. Were doing a two story colonial style with brick on front. Almost half of what a traditional build costs, so it was a no brainer for us. We had to do a construction loan. We own our lot and are putting down a good bit so we are not financing a lot. Came out to around 70 a sq ft finished (we have granite, tile, crown molding, etc)

Have heard the same. We haven't looked into it yet, but like I said there's quite a few popping up and some very nice ones.
If I go for a drive tomorrow I'll take some pictures of local ones around here that are nice as hell.

Owens Corning developed some stuff that helps keep it from getting too hot. Not sure what it’s called.

That's kinda what I have been thinking about doing. We would like a large metal building (in the country or on the water) and have a large covered/enclosed workshop for cars , boats, whatever.
Then we could park our RV in it and no one would even know it was there.
A smart woman would like your setup. The man can spend time at home doing his thing and hanging with his buddies instead of going to bars and other stuff.
Pro-tip: Also set him up with everything he needs for an outdoor kitchen and grill. Yum!!!

That's exactly what I am doing. I'm going to put a badass kitchen in it but the rest will be pretty basic. Stained concrete floors, basic garage type cabinets, etc. The money I save on not having a full out house built will probably go towards elk hunting trips and shite like that
