What do teens even do these days?

Took a mini road trip today and put on some 80’s metal for the ride, and as I passed through New Roads looking at the water it got me reminiscing on that era as a young man and all the get togethers we’d have on the water with parties and such, and just in general how we were always getting together for parties at people’s houses, on the River, meet ups, teen hangouts like Frisco’s, Coney Island, Fastimes, local McDonalds, and later on all the bar hopping and nightlife.
Then it occurred to me that I never see teenagers or young adults much these days doing anything like that. You never see them out in groups like we hung out. You just rarely even see them. Are they invisible?
What the hell do these kids do? Stay at home? It’s no great wonder there are so many that are depressed and on meds. I’d be too.

I have 2 in college and they did a lot of that stuff you’re speaking of prior to the rona. Just yesterday I passed by about 15 kids or so out playing tackle football, looked to be elementary age

There are some kids that skateboard at the school I work at. Once the bell rings, they start at it. I actually applaud them. Most would flip on their iPhone and find a skateboarding game.
