I've always thought purple and yellow, too.

Same here. It was white and gold for first 5 mins whenever I looked at it. Now I can see both.
(I saved the image and verified it wasn't a GIF as I was sure that was what was happening.)

If you see the same color and not different, you are color blind and that's that

I'm still convinced this shite is all some elaborate hoax.

I think this is the best explanation in this thread:
Although I would veer more toward white-greyish with the last one

Apparently seeing white and gold means you have shorter rods in your retina and your eyes are shittier in dim light.
Long rods = Good sight in dim light, unable to see white and gold
Medium rods = average eyes, can see either
Short rods = Bad sight in dim light, unable to see the actual blue and black of the photo

that explanation works for sure but still don't see the white
except for the light?
except for the light?

You just don't have the ability to perceive things as they truly are. The next level humans could tell it was a blue and black dress that looked different due to brightness/contrast.
Condolences

It actually just depends on the screen of your device.
It's white on my laptop and blue on my phone.

Oh fricking frick is changed to black and blue for me

Let's approach this logically...
blue
gold
black
white
So above I have posted the four colors in question.
If mood was effecting my depiction of color, then if I saw black and blue in the photo, I would also be posting 4 pictures (2 pairs of the same color: 2 white and 2 gold or vice versa).

No. Some people it will not change no matter how you adjust the brightness
