if their flagship university left?

Tulane - Old Uptown money would leave and the influx of rich Northeasterners drying up would make Nola the undisputed shittiest city in America

LSU - BR would turn into Jackson, MS in a matter of months without LSU

Auburn, Oxford, Starkville, Athens, and Tuscaloosa would deteriorate rapidly without their Universities. Large cities can handle it better.

I would miss the girls in athleisure gear in Uptown, but no Tulane leaving would not crash new orleans. Most would be happy honestly.

I'm not much of a fan of New Orleans (and Uptown is far from my favorite part of New Orleans), but New Orleans is a veritable paradise compared to St. Louis.

NOLA would still have major events to keep it afloat.

Neither of them are leaving.

But literally every city with a major university would be fricked if that university suddenly ceased to exist.

LSU and there is no question about it

If it weren’t for LSU, Baton Rouge would be worse off than Baltimore - the place is that bad.

LSU is the only thing that keeps that city somewhat habitable

Still have Yo-yola to keep from losing the tradition.

Rent in a good area would become a lot cheaper. Young professionals wouldn't have to move to Metry.

Baton Rogue would probably not recover.

Tulane leaving NOLA would just be another piece taken.

But BR would be the version of Detroit that is in RoboCop. All the buildings and property of an abandoned LSU campus would look like the abandoned factory in Robocop.
