What can you tell me about Shreveport?

Just got a job offer there. Will be my first job out of college.
What is the avg rent price? Nightlife scene?
Is about 3 hours from my hometown in Texas.

People will bash the place.. it's not that bad in reality.. plenty of things to do and if you enjoy the water, there's plenty of lakes and hunting/fishing.

Live in south Shreveport, or in Bossier City. Housing is pretty cheap. Nightlife is pretty bleak.
