Stop following too close to dump trucks and 18 wheelers

e I don’t think I used those cameras/sensors?
You will need to disable auto braking, collision sensing, etc. And, if you're one of those ultra trusting idiots that installs an insurance driving monitoring device, it's going to flag the shite out of you.

safe lite is a corporate rip. they asked me for my insurance coverage and then charged 15 dollars less than the deductible. went to a local gas shop and got it done for 400 dollars less

No, that is why WPF exists. Exoshield is a good one.

You 100% have some sensor that needs to be calibrated. Cars are just too complicated. What used to be a $150 fix is now $750+ because of some sensor.

This reminds me of something I haven't seen in awhile. Those idiots who used to go around and check windshields and if there was any small mark on it they would tell you they could replace your windshield for free... They just needed to see you car insurance.
I have an uncle who had a gas station for years and his sons are my age and when we were all in college, they worked there and I would go there and hang out when I needed to waste time. They would have to run these idiots off all the time. They would pull up, and 3 or 4 would get out of the car and they would hit every vehicle that had a driver in it
$1002 is steep for a windshield, but I think everything is expensive. Call a locally owned place.

Also in Louisiana once they drop the inspection sticker scam don’t worry about it.
When that happens I won’t worry about it.
Until then, an expired inspection sticker ticker is north of $250 all over.

It’s a good business model and service. Most people are lazy and want things as easy as possible. I’m able and willing to be a little more patient to save $500.

You’ll be pissed to know that despite paying more than anyone for car insurance in this state, Florida (who also doesn’t have inspection stickers) will replace your windshield for free.

The last two rocks that got my windshield were bouncing down the road from cars at least 100 feet in front of me, probably closer to 150 feet. Also, what about the people who pass you on the left and immediately cut back into the right lane within 20 feet of your front bumper chunking rocks as they do?

Louisiana was one of the few states with zero glass coverage in the 00s, I presume because they never cleaned their interstates of debris.
I will never, ever forget, pulling onto I-12 from Airline after replacing my windshield after 6-7 dings. And promptly watched a golf ball sized rock fly over the Jersey barrier directly at my windshield and crater it. I mean less than 200 yards from the on ramp. FML.
But the food in Louisiana is awesome, I guess. All Baton Rouge needs is a loop! Hope is nigh!

I’m dealing with this on my Sierra right now, the thing is a magnet for rocks. Over $1k because of sensors, heads up display etc. I can’t believe someone hasn’t come up with a protective film or something that can be easily changed out.

I’m thankful it’s free in Florida.
You just call a number and they come install one for you.

Just replaced a windshield w/ 17k miles. I left Safelite with the purple tape still on my windshield and a fricking flat with shitty mud flaps on the back tires spit three rocks on my windshield.

Did you apply yourself?
No, I just have it done when I get my PPF installed. You can DIY it, though, and they sell specific DIY kits. I would consider DIYing the WPF, where I won't even consider doing PPF because I have seen a ton of poor "professional" installs.
