Seems like most people on this board have kids.
Curious to get people's thoughts when they come across people in their late 30s or early 40s without kids.
We had our kids young enough that the best should be empty the year I turn 40. Will still have to provide some support I am sure. By that I mean the youngest will be 18 and off to college or wherever. Just have two kids though.
We will be young enough to still go out and live some great experiences traveling wherever.

They never figure out the true meaning of life.
When you love something else more than you love yourself it changes you in a good way.

ETA: Sorry, I'm guessing that was a typo for "nest".

Apparently I was selfish
Plus I was an arrogant a-hole most of my life

I know a lot of arrogant assholes who have kids. Many of them are actively posting in this thread.
Being a dad and being an arrogant a-hole are not mutually exclusive. According to this thread, there is probably a fairly high correlation.

What are your thoughts on people who have kids and use your tax payers money to have them in the hospital then feed them with your tax money.

They’ve learned the true meaning of life.

You probably need to call it a day and hit the showers.

I think they performed a life hack by simply opting out.

I respect their position. I'm jealous of the free time and money. I'm sad they don't experience the love of a parent for a child.
I will not have children and I feel the reverse of this. I know what I’ll miss and I think about it maybe once a year as I wonder what kind of father I would be. Then I forget about it when I start buying myself shite and basically doing whatever I want.
I don’t see why anybody would have a problem with either.

I am one of those folks. I am 57 and I have no children. When I was young, I just assumed that I would get married at the appropriate age and then have kids. I never put a lot of thought into it.
Growing up, my family life was perfect. I have an older brother and my parents gave us such a good life that it is hard to describe in a limited forum. My point is that my decision on kids had nothing to do with growing up.
It is just something I’ve never wanted to do but never developed any hard stance against having kids.
I don’t have any regrets and I don’t anticipate having any in the future.

No kids here.
Wife and I both have great jobs. Lots of free time and disposable income. Funny to read people on here say they feel sorry for us.
Plenty of nieces and nephews to spoil.
Life is good.

The world is overpopulated as it is and the last thing we need is to be worried about not having enough humans. We are a cancer upon this planet and IMO less is better, far far less.especially in Asian and India but everywhere has too many.
