I’ve never liked these either but they do seem to fit the aesthetics of Malaysia. One of the easiest ways to get onto the ugly list is for the architect to want to make a statement and be splashy more than fit into its surroundings. See everything ever designed by Santiago Calatrava. While his stuff looks cool, rarely does it fit aesthetically into the area it resides. If there was a city of just his buildings they’d be incredible, but plopping his very unique styling into an area that looks nothing at all like it doesn’t make any sense,

London suffers from a lot of this. There’s plenty of buildings like the Shard or the Walkie Talkie building that don’t fit at all.

All these buildings are hideous. I can’t believe a professional designed any of them. Absolutely hideous

Is that real? Looks like it’s from Judge Dredd.

Actually Dredd. Slight difference in movie names, vast difference in quality.

That skyscraper is a crime ridden, slo mo infested blight on Mega City One.

Ahh...I thought I had seen that somewhere. Dredd was a good movie.

I dunno how I forgot this but the Pearl Tower in Shanghai looks horrible. I will say it’s very distinctive and gives the Shanghai skyline something that sets it apart much like the Eiffel Tower but without he class that the Parisian tower has.

Anything by Michael Graves. His buildings look like cheezy 90's sitcoms

The one at the bottom is at Disney World so I’ll forgive that. But I looked up some other stuff by his and I agree, not a fan.

The Humana Building in Louisville has that same cheesiness. I feel like glass, steel, and concrete have taken the class out of architectural design and left us with sterile and ugly lazy designs that lack any human connection.

You posted the wrong thing from Mecca though. The clock tower that sits right beside there is horrible

That Humana building reminds me so much of a shopping mall. Totally soulless.

I thought the same thing for years.

I spent a weekend there and it changed my mind. It is a real fun city.
