I just started The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**K, and this seems like one that would be enjoyed by the OT crew. I have already realized that when it comes to LSU athletics, I give way too many f**ks. LINK
best quote in chapter1: Just like the road not take, it was the F**k not given that has made all the difference.

Publishers summary:
quote:

For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shite is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

quote:

Manson makes the argument, backed by both academic research and well-timed poop jokes, that improving our lives hinges not on our ability to turn lemons into lemonade but on learning to stomach lemons better.

quote:

There are only so many things we can give a f*ck about, so we need to figure out which ones really matter, Manson makes clear.

I already give so few fricks as it is. If I give any less I'd have to take up a life of celibacy.

The best books I’ve read over the past few months have been:

Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro
The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel

I would recommend any of them.

The Frackers. Gregory Zuckerman

Started out a little rough but is getting better. Could be its written by someone with little knowledge of the industry and I am in it. Not near as well written as other similar books I have read but its getting better so we will see.

Wrote a book about the Big Short guys that I may check out.

If you like history and curious about oil and gas I highly suggest The Prize and The Big Rich.

If there is any M&A guys in here I highky suggest The Taking if Getty Oil.

Papillon by Henri Charriere

The Last Train To Paradise by Les Standiford. This was an interesting book that talked about the train line they built to Key West. It also talks a lot about the development of Miami and the area of S Florida.

Your enlightened author missed the point of that poem. I'd reconsider any epiphanies that came from reading this book.

Upvote for Ready Player One, especially if you were a child of the 80's. Lots of 80's references and a pretty interesting story as well. I've got about 100 pages left...
