Nobody cares what anyone is giving up. The whole point is to do it for yourself. Not for clout to brag to others about how good of a Christian you are

I'm not Catholic but I work with a ton of people who are. The 70 year old receptionist about had a heart attack when I was eating a hamburger on a Friday. I had to explain to her that I wasn't Catholic and didn't follow that.

Many of us do. I know of non-denominational churches that do a 21 day fast. It may be everything except liquids or it may be just certain things.
Could be your own private fast.
