my 30s have been a breeze. now my first 5 years were a bitch, but again... i married at 20 and had kids at 23 while still in college. it should have been tough.

Whenever a better opportunity arises.

My observation has been that women who have kids early on will grow resentful around 10yrs afterwards when they're in a difficult routine while their friends are starting to make money and are out having fun. I've seen some people weather the storm and come out better for it once their kids are grown and they have their freedom back. Others have chosen the divorce route and tapped out. Some more than once.

From what I've seen, generally if a marriage makes it past the 5 year mark, they usually hold for good. I'm not saying that's some sort of scientific fact, just what I have observed.
FWIW, I've been married for 20 years.

2017
I was going to go with 1995.
since the sentence plural verb does not have agreement with the singular year, we can posit two answers.

I would say probably closer to 7 or 8 years. I have been married coming up on 20 years.
My experience for the most part is if you can get through those early years and the first couple tests, you are ok unless someone cheats.
my parents got divorced after 22 years of marriage, although my father was a serial philander it didn't bother my mother that much.

I'm seeing a common scenario at 35-40, where the women are deciding they've had their kids and done the marriage thing, now it is time to go live the Sex and the City lifestyle while their pussy still has some value.
I've actually seen this scenario fairly often with some of my buddies and their wives. One wife of a friend, a very decent woman, told me years ago that probably half of her female friends stray in their marriages and told me I would be a fool to ever get married.

just had a good friend of mine say him and his lady are getting divorced. they got married a month after i did. it's pretty shocking, but i guess reading this thread it shouldn't be surprising

I'd be surprised if the REAL percentage who remain faithful after 10 years is 30%.

This.
I'd say mid 30's ...raising kids, jobs, a lot of work in addition to all that to keep the spark alive and find time for each other. It's a tall task for even the strongest marriages.

wife and I did a marriage class and they showed us the stats
its between year 7-8, hence the 7 year itch started
They explained thats because couples usually wait 2.5 years after getting married to have kids, then said kid is entering the tough years (2-5) and then most couples add a second kid to the mix. when that second kid hits they've been married usually 6-7 years and after a year of that is when most marriages are really put to the test.
