Obvious and easiest answer is a shite load of gas cans. That’s sort of what I’m working with now but I need to increase how much gas I currently store for the next storm. I’m wondering if there’s a more elegant or efficient solution. I’ve seen a 14 gallon tank on Amazon but it looks a little junky and it’s gravity fed so the entire carrier has to be above whatever you’re filling up. Not super practical for me how my home is laid out.

Any ideas or should I just keep stockpiling and filling individual gas cans.

100 gallons in my boat that I can siphon as needed. If I go another day or so without power im going to have to start doing that.

When is the next storm? Will all this stored gas still good?

Yes, a whole home natural gas generator. Not practical for everyone, but I wouldn’t own a home without one.

My son’s neighbor has a 150 gal tank on a trailer. They bought 150 gal together right before the storm for the guy’s 16,000 watt generator.

Stored gas will keep, in non hectic times like this find and fill with ethanol free gas.
$10 battery operated liquid transfer pump from Harbor Freight.
After Laura, I would fill up vehicle after 3 months and refill with ethanol free gas in tanks.

I used to keep two 55 gallons drums with hand pumps full of gas. Added Stabil. Rotated it out every 6 to 8 months. Now a natural gas stand by does the trick.
