Just looking for some general feedback.

Any feedback on SNF in Plaquemine? Recruiter hit me up but figured there a reason if nobody else want to work there.

Heard the newer LNG plants around Lake Chas, Hackberry and Cameron are good.

Define best plants

SNF is a pretty low budget chill place. Not a lot of exciting work and on the lower end of the spectrum

Did a few turnarounds when I was in college 20 years ago.

Exxon is beuqacratic. Spend more time with a finger in your arse waiting on a permit than working. Wrecked an ISC Izuzu pickup back in the day. Lol.

Allied Signal was a sweet gig. Finish meeting your orders and get lost for the night. Used to bust Freon bottles and play wiggle ball along the banks of the MS for fun.

Worked my arse off at Rubicon down in Geismer. Good guys. I probably didn’t know any better at the time. They kept telling me to slow down. Insulators. Workman’s Lounge down the street would cash your checks. Lol.

Overall plant life ain’t too bad. Somebody is always wanting to meet somebody outside the fence. Don’t be that guy.

Depends on your role. What do you do?

The ones where they pay contractors to do everything and all you have to do is sit in the control room and write permits.

You need to define "best." Every unit within each plant has its own culture. I know people I hired in with that hated their areas so much that they quit. Some of them hated the workload, some hated the people, some hated the process. It's all so unique to each person. Benefits and pay are identical if you're working at the same place, but its just luck of the draw if you end up liking it where you're at.

I would also say that if you're an inexperienced operator then SNF is more than fine. If you're coming from somewhere like Marathon, Shell, Exxon, etc. then obviously its a different situation. I've been working in plants 10 years now. I got extremely lucky to end up where I'm at.

You either work for Methanex, or you wish you did.
