Had German Shepherds-1 working, 1 not. Thought they were the only breed for me. When the last one passed we went dogless for a while until 2 years ago when we inherited my son's Plott Hound when he went off to college.

Love the dog. Loyal, obedient, really even tempered. Loves people. But...He is a hound, a very athletic hound. He can jump a 7' fence with little problem and can climb a tree like a mo-fo. High energy during spring through fall. In the winter loves to curl up in front of the fire. He gets along well with other dogs and has been great with small children. Real cool personality.

The full sized Yorkie is easily the best dog I have owned (I like a lot of breeds). It's a great size for an indoor dog-10/11 lbs or so, it doesn't shed,it doesn't tear things up, it's clever, sweet and affectionate, it's super quiet unless it sees someone who doesn't "belong" and it's really clean. Mine never leaves my side and I love it like a child.

Blue Heeler

Smart as hell, well behaved, and great with the family.

Barks when people approach the house, but doesn't bite.

This dog was easy to train and big personality.

I don't think anyone has said English setter yet. Just got one two weeks ago. She's about 11 weeks now and has been a great dog so far. Very smart

Doberman

Super intelligent, easy to train, super loyal, short hair, and obviously is a good guard dog.

We have one too, but he's 95lbs and that's basically the top of the breed size for males. 130 is massive! To those saying aggression problems, you're just wrong. Plain and simple. They are known for being weary of strangers and very protective of family, but that doesn't equal aggression issues. That being said, if you come in my house and he doesn't know you he won't be happy

Honestly they're the greatest breed overall that I've ever been around. Smart, loyal, protective, maybe more athletic than any other and completely fearless.
