There were never any charges or convictions in the UpStairs Lounge arson case. Killed 32 people. The prime suspect committed suicide a year later.

The Republicans have ruled the Louisiana Legislature for the past 20 to 30 years yet they keep on blaming the few Democrat governors in that same time span. The mystery is the voters have bought this nonsense and keep on sending the same Republicans back to the legislature.

Listening to a podcast about the unsolved murder of Margaret Coon in 1987

Thanks for reminding me I need to finish this. The Margaret Coon podcast is fascinating. It took me down rabbit holes of St. Tammany corruption too.

And maybe also to avoid inquiries into business dealings that had gotten increasing attention.

Someone will likely chime in because I don't remember his name but here in Livingston Parish/Denham Springs a few years back I would often see billboards with some mans name on it who had been murdered or was missing.........maybe last name Bell?

For all the Cenla folks. Several rumors swirled around when it happened, but they never found him.

it's a really interesting case...but from everything i've read about it, there's never been any reason to think he was murdered...

Who killed Eugenie Boisfontaine?

Yep. That happened in 97 and still no closure. It was highlighted on a show called "Killing Fields" with a retired detective working on the cold case file of this murder.

As far as I know, there's been no closure on it yet.
