What are some things you miss doing from your childhood?

I used to wait for my dad to get home from work so he could take me to Blockbuster on a Friday night so we could both rent movies and I could rent a Sega Genesis game. My dad would go straight to the new release section while I ran straight to the game section.
I used to beg my parents to take me to the Broadmoor Flea Market on Saturdays or the card shop on Sherwood where the Baskin Robins used to be to look at all the Ken Griffey Jr, Shaquille O’Neal, and Michael Jordan cards that I knew I couldn’t afford but I could at least look at them and hold them. I would always end up buying cards that were in the $10-$20 range.

Throwing ball, playing ball ... didn't matter, football, baseball, basketball, golf ... with my Dad.
He just passed this past October. Truly great man. Wish I could share his obit.
It is excruciating how much I miss him. He was a god in my eyes. These kinda threads hurt.

We used to order fireworks from a mail order catalog. It was one of the best days of they year when they showed up on the door step. We would get a big brick of black cats and unravel them all and put them in gallon zip lock bags.

Going to the movie theatre, arcades, just hanging out with friends, getting that interested look from a girl. I think 6-18 was the most fun I’ve ever had because everything was so new and interesting.

Riding bikes through neighborhoods and woods with no cell phones or plan or communication with anyone. Hard to imagine that kind of freedom now.
