Spending time with my grandparents, living on 5 acres and having to work as a family in the garden, to can vegetables, raise chickens, hunt/fish, on top of my dad working, to not feel impoverished (self reliance, and a sense of overcoming/accomplishment, I suppose.) Freedom.

We have to be close to the same age and area as kids because I did all this (Alfalfa Video before Blockbuster)
I grew up in Sherwood Forest in the 80’s-90’s but my dad took off so maybe you were going to Blockbuster with my dad too

Swimming all day from about 2 o'clock on at my friends house....he was the only one with a pool and a spring diving board. We would swim until dinner go home eat and get ready for the evening swim and the foolishness associated with that at least 3 nights a week.
We would have to be home by the 10 o'clock news and then catch the 10:35 MASH on Channel 4

We are doing deep cleaning in preparation for a move. I came across a bag of photos from my youth. The surprising thing the bag was a bright yellow New Generation bag. Man, the memories came flooding back. That's a very old bag.

During the Watergate hearings there was nothing else on TV. My family played games in the evening. Sometimes we sang songs while mom played the guitar. We cooked hamburgers on the grill. I learned to shoot cans off a fence post.
