What are some simple alternatives to store products that you use?

I tried a bunch of different glass cleaners (no streak formula, liquid spray, foam), different types of paper towels, using newspapers, etc and my car windows still had streaks. You typically don’t notice them until driving at night when lights reflect off of them. I finally stumbled on a bottle in our cabinet of what I thought was the new clear Windex brand. It worked a hundred times better. When I finally ran out I was so disappointed when I couldn’t find the new “clear” formula in the store, so asked my wife where she bought it. She then told me she had just mixed up vinegar and water and put it in an old Windex bottle because it cleans so well and doesn’t streak.
