IRS taxation on bonuses and commissions. Much higher than personal income, though most people who get these use these as part of their total compensation. Gottam congress decided it was really just free money they could tax higher than regular income. Huge fricking Rip OFF.

They aren't taxed higher, just withheld at a higher rate. File return, get money back. ETA: also adjust your withholding down on your W4 if you know you get bonuses.

People know nothing of their taxes, people constantly complain about their taxes.

Hotels
This is mostly applicable to vacation destinations. You think you find a decent one in your price range and you get to check out and see that there is a 20% hotel tax added on, a $25+ per day "resort fee" and about $100 more dollars in various fees and taxes. Your $1000 weekly rental turns into $1300+

They keep putting out these POS cables. And $25 is such a frick you price point

I bought a cable that was not from apple and I know that was a waste of money. It didn't matter how long I would leave it on charge, my battery would go down fast. So I just buy them from Apple when I need them, however; it doesn't take long for the cord covers to start breaking and exposing the wires.

This post just made me think of this, but does anyone have the same experiences with iPhone cables?

You don't pay for the product, you pay for the shipping and handling

Underwear. Why does a 4 pack of underwear cost $15?

This year my place of employment is forcing us to pay $100 a month if our spouse has insurance offered at their place of business. So basically they're taxing us $1,200 a year for having a spouse that works.

Good luck enforcing that.

I would simply say my wife is unemployed.

Yes, I do, but I am paying $2 a month right now for razors right now so I think I'm good.

I can get roughly 2 years worth of razors for around $10.

Fancy phones and tablets that are super expensive because they are so sleek and small.

Only, they are so fragile that you HAVE to buy protection for another $30-$60.

For all the crap Wells fargo gets they basically give me 60 bucks a month. Every time you use your debit card they give you a dollar. i use mine alot and i get about 60 bucks a month deposited into my account. thats like an extra 700 a year. cant complain about that.

I'm almost 100% positive you've got it wrong. They transfer $1 of your own money into your connected savings account, but they're not giving you $1 for each debit ard use.

I don't know what a BackPage Ad is but I'm sure my guess would be correct.

Any pet supply, treats and toys, are overly priced.

Sex toys are high and shoddily made unless you know where to get them.

"Sexy clothes" are usually expensive and poorly made. Nice thigh highs that don't run should not be that expensive.

How is it that every block there's a different little shitty mattress store and how can they sustain with so much competition? Because the mark up on those things is ridiculous. They try and convince you to change them every 8 years too, which is ridiculous

And I don't think I ever passed by a mattress store and saw it packed with customers.

Shipping is a good one, but sometimes I think it has more to do with who/what company you are ordering from. For example, there have been a few times I have ordered something and the options were: 7 business days free, 3-5 business days x amount, overnight.... and I go with the free shipping and still receive it within the 3-5 day window. Given the option and if it isn't something I need right away, I will not pay for shipping.

Sex toys and dog stuff.. That's not really "forced"...lol.. but now I am going to have to go see how much sex toys cost.

It is actually the first I've heard of it, but apparently it is popular. 27% of employers used it in 2015 and they expect it to double by the end of 2017.
