There is a lot I do not know about the armed services, but I know with a degree I can train for officer?
As to the actual question of this topic, you need to be a rich business owner, doctor, or Morris Bart to expect to make that much with 40 hrs week. I would hate sales because I don't want to pressure others into buying something in order to survive.

according to the wall street journal, in 2014, 2% of americans made $200k or more per year...so you should probably take most of what you hear, or read here, with a grain of salt.

NONE. NONE of those worked 40 hours a week when they started. They MAY..... may work 40 hrs /wk now that they have put in their 60-80 hrs /wk building up a practice or business, but none worked just 40 early in their careers. The world is just too competitive. There are too many people willing to do it, you have got to hustle. PERIOD.

If I were younger and had the time, I would go into aviation. Serious demand for pilots right now and for the next 20 years according to most experts. 22 y/o college grad can be making 200K+ by 30 with a lot of time off.

I’m not sure how old you are, but generally you can be 32 or younger and still have a chance to be selected. Depends a lot on the branch too. Marines weren’t taking officers over 28 when I was in. Army and other branches will take you up to 32 or older. If you have a degree, you can contact a recruiter and work a package. Basically, you fill out some personal history paperwork, physical, and background check will be done. They’ll check your social media stuff. Then your package will go to a board, and you’ll be required to attend. They will ask you why you want to be an officer, as long as you answer confidently and aren’t retarded, you won’t have an issue. You will then be given a class date and time to report. After that, the training begins.

You're either in an insanely high income area or most are full of shite.
Or they spend like they make 200k. Knowing some folks in banking, I can tell you that you'd be surprised how many "high" income people are insanely in debt.

This statistic just kills me, I have such a hard time believing that, but it repeated som many places I guess it is true.

I know some very well off professionals, physicians, attorneys, business owners etc. and I’ve been to hundreds of social engagements with any number of them and not one time has any eluded to the amount of their annual income. Ever.
Anyone telling you what they make is lying. And guaranteed lying on the high side.
There are only two people in this world that know what I make. Myself and my partner who happens to be my wife. Not my CPA, my financial guy, my friends, family or even the government. And that is by design.

Hey, Sid. $10,000,000 has 8 figures in it. You don't even have to take your shoes off to count them.

How? You just hide money so then it isn't taxed? Tax evasion is real smart.

I’m aware. It’s a lot lengthier but I’m not typing all that shite out. However, that is the jist of it.
AF is a hell of a lot more selective than the Army though, so your experience might be different. Once I got out of the Marines and completed my degree, I spoke with the Marine and Army officer recruiters so I’m really only familiar with their processes.

I don't make anywhere near that much but I have enough to quit work forever if I wanted to, I cannot remember the last time I didn't buy something I really wanted, and I would have to buy a lot I don't want to spend what I do make.
