I mean private schools, say a kid needed full time speech therapy or had autism. What are the good ones?

If they’re into sports try looking into John Curtis Christian Academy

St. George’s. 100%. They have staff for that issue.

Isn’t St. George’s the most expensive school in Nola ?

Here are the catholic schools that specialize in special needs

St Michael is the traditional school that has been working forever, St Therese is brand new and just opened last fall.

It’s up there but Newman is probably the most expensive. My son goes to St George’s and we love it.

St. Therese has an open house on Tuesday from 4-6. St. Therese is for children with less severe special needs.
St. Michael's is for children with more severe needs.

I have friends who have sons with autism at Audubon Gentilly and Bricolage. They are happy. These are charter options.

St. Benilde in Metairie is one of the few that have the incentive and resources for true special needs.
To be honest though, you would do much better in the public school system.
A lot of poorly informed people like to weigh in but if you need extra help you won't really get it in any of the private schools in the New Orleans area.

There are no stand alone special needs schools in South Louisiana.
Several buddies packed up and moved away for this reason.
The best you could hope for at a private school in the Nola area is to hire a para who is with the kid all day.
