as a child, some fifty years ago, waterhead was a term used for some types of mental retardation....hydrocephalus, I believe

might want to steer clear of its use

I prefer to not try and get too cute with it, stick to the classics. A simple "idiot" or "moron" will suffice.

I always liked the term peterbreath. I remember my dad saying it after some guy cut us off. I was about 6 at the time and repeated it, not understanding the implication. He just kind of chuckled and said, Don't say that again...

I use some Aussie slang. These come to mind off the top of my head:

Wanker
Derro (short for a derelict)
Scro - (short for a scrotum - someone who is halfway between being a dickhead and an a-hole)
Yabbo
Dole bludger (someone on welfare)
Hoodlum/Hooligan

Of course, before any of these words, the Australians like to add "bloody" or "fricking."

I used to work with a guy who liked to call people "mooseknuckle." I always thought that was funny.
