For me, the only option is the Brazilian naval vessel that they abandoned off the coast of Brazil.

I want my title to be Supreme Imperial Admiral of the Navy

Knoxville. Rivers, lakes, nearby Smokies, lots of activities, good inventory of normal housing, albeit not cheap.

I recently moved to Raleigh, NC.

I enjoy it a lot. Nice people, good breweries, downtown has some good restaurants and easy to get in and out.

Traffic isn’t too bad and you can get everywhere generally in 15 minutes or less within the Raleigh beltway.

Indoor concert venues are a little lacking, but they do have nice outdoor venues during the spring and summer.

You have the outer banks to the east and mountains to the west.

Golf in NC is some of the best in the country.

Overall, a pretty relaxing place

Stay away from Montana. It's horrible, and no one should move there.

loved the scenary around that area when we visited years ago but damn i didnt see the sun for 10 days

Were you here in the Winter? Supposedly, Bend averages around 300 days of sunshine a year. But I've never actually tried to keep count. We've definitely had a lot of overcast days in January this year, but it's only snowed once in 2023. Had a lot of snow in Nov and Dec, though.

I would say Salt Lake. I have enjoyed it since I moved, but am now starting to get tired of this white shite that keeps falling.

While I didn't move that far north in Idaho - I moved to a smaller town in ID 2 years ago. Best decision I ever made. Peaceful, very little crime, friendly neighbors, 1.5 or so to Sun Valley. Fishing, hunting, camping.

more late fall early winter

it was weird since all that i read about that area was sunshine and scenerary.

we still had a great time. tried to traverse the state and see everything. drove down the pacific coast hwy, spent alot of time in the Willamette Valley area (this might be why i remember not much sun while we were there)

That explains a lot. Whenever I've been in the Willamette Valley outside of Summer, it seems to almost always be raining and/or grey and gloomy.

Skipping Mississippi was a good decision.

A low cost of living would be a major point as well for what we're looking for.

Well, that's gonna be a problem because the large cities of America are expensive AF. Even the burbs around most large cities are getting expensive.
