upgraded insulation package (no batts) or better yet use SIPS on the outside. Get the house tight enough you need an HRV or ERV.
upgraded HVAC system to include zoning for each level, separate units for each level or use mini-splits for the whole house for increased comfort and efficiency.
Design the runs to maximize pipe routing efficiency and decrease the time it takes to get hot water to faucets.
Plumbing in a water softener.
Upgrade bathroom exhaust fans to the nice ones that move more air and are more quiet.
Run electric and gas connections to the Stove & dryer locations for future flexibility.
Run gas to the outside for a gas grill and outside fire fixtures.
Under cabinet and above cabinet LED lighting.
Have RG-6 and Cat6 installed in every room and run it to a central location in the basement. Install a LAN organizing cabinet at this location.
Install a hardwired wireless AP in the ceiling of the upstairs.
Install a self-winterizing sprinkler system. This requires the ADBV to be located in the basement.
Put exterior lights on a timer circuit including landscaping lights. Use a photocell combination timer or an astronomical/timer combination switch.
Add receptacles to the garage.
put a faucet in the garage.
Those are the easy ones I'd recommend.

I still have no idea why you need these everywhere

Yeah I went Cat 6 in ours. The tech guys knew, but builder didn't know it was out. Things change fast in tech.

Wtf, I'm clueless. How are the cat 6 tied into your internet provider? Or are they all running back to the 1 modem?

Everything is becoming networked these days. You just dont know how the internet will be used in the future. Even fridges and dishwashers get connected these days.
WiFi has issues when you start getting tons of connections. Hardwiring as many devices to the network instead of using wifi will improve all your device speeds and reliability not to mention security. You can't hack hardwire.
In all the big rooms you gotta figure that internet is going to be the primary source of TV in the not to distant future and video is much better hardwired vs using WiFi.

I get it now. All the cat6 is just ethernet cable. You run them back to a central location where they are connected to a common network switch. This allows all the network connected devices in your house to talk to each other, share video, and access the internet through a single internet connection.

Do you have to coordinate this with the internet provider?
Posted on 9/19/17 at 10:03 am to CQQ
No...you coordinate it with yourself. Internet provider brings service to your home from the street. The inside is your call.

Break it down for me. I have a house with a cable modem and my wireless router connected to it.
How do you hook up that Ethernet switch to your cable modem? Can the cable modem hook up to both the Ethernet and your wireless router?

Garage is a big one. I would build a garage for one more car than you need so you can store stuff if you don't have a shed. We built a 3 car and I would like 4 realistically. will probably put a large shed in the backyard instead

I have a meeting I'm heading into. I will reply to this later today if no one answers sooner so you know how to hook it up. The biggest thing is getting the cat 6 lines run during construction for now. So much easier & cheaper than after the fact.

Tornado chamber.
Since ef5 hit sw mo. and bama i would not have a new house without
A steel tornado survival chamber if i lived in regions that have them.
Twister pod. Home depot. Seats 4. $3,100.
Bigger ones to 7k from other vendors.
