Space - How truly special humanity is, yet how insignificant we all are in the grand scheme or the universe.

That and women.

That's all I got.

how the universe can be infinite

Yeah the human brain has not evolved to the point of being able to truly grasp this idea. We assume it to be true, but can't comprehend the magnitude properly as we are not equipped.

This sort of thought is one of the reasons that people think we are basically either a mistake of evolution or a "divine" creation, limited in our brain capacity by design. It really cannot be anything else. Self awareness, imagination, forethought, and the product of all 3, religion are all at once completely unique to us and us alone in the known universe. Not to say it isn't possible elsewhere, we just don't know of any other being that has these capabilities.

"Repugnant is a Creature who would squander the ability
To lift an eye to heaven, conscious of his fleeting time here."
-Maynard James Keenan

This line acknowledges the idea above, while also highlighting our self destructive, dogmatic and wasteful animal tendencies and how they affect our wholly unique cognitive abilities. We choose fighting and narcissism over the ability to explore the universe and our connection to it in an overwhelming majority. Those that do choose, generally subscribe to pre packaged, color by numbers religions that really restrict us more than enlighten.

The physical size of the universe and our overall meaning of existence are hand in hand ideas IMO. In a physical area so vast, we are merely a grain of sand on an unending coastline. Do we matter? Are we here for a reason? Are we "alone"? If so, why? If not, how / where are the others / why can't we find them / why are we here together? Who put us here?

"Size of the universe" ideas ultimately lead us inward to self, rather than outward to the edges of the universe. Is that by design or is it just our way to cope with our inability to comprehend the first idea?

I love philosophy.

How anyone could believe that participating in a Sacramental economy initiates and sustains one's right-standing before God.

Agree with things on vastness of space. Some of the concepts they got into like relativity with the movie Interstellar are fun to read and watch YouTube videos from astrophysicists on. Blew my mind that we can work out gravity and understand what it does, but no one knows exactly why it happens. It is just a force in the dimension we live in.
