You won't be the only one in a suit, but a nice shirt and slacks would be more appropriate IMO. You could even go with a short sleeve polo as long as it looks nice.

My dad wore a suit to my LSU graduation. Brother wore slacks and a button down. I wore a seersucker suit. You'll see people in full suit, and you will see people in shorts and t-shirts.

It's pretty trashy not to wear a suit to your kids graduation imo

Did you forget to include ...with "nice jeans"?

Just like at weddings, I wear a suit to show respect to the person being honored. If you can, wear a suit. I'm sure the graduate would appreciate it.

Immediate family = suit
Relative = slacks and dress shirt
Baw = Tommy Bahama floral shirt, 6" Polo shorts, and the cheap Sperrys
Bawette with hot friends = button down and khakis

It's college.

Men are wearing dresses, and chicks are wearing suits. Transgenders mix and match.

Just try not to look like white trash. It's not that hard. When in doubt, just over dress.

Wear a suit and tie regardless of how many weekend warriors are there in Tommy Bahama shirts and loose khakis
