The list of options is pretty long. We used to be great builders.
1. Brooklyn Bridge is on it.
2. The New York subways system should be on it.
3. The superdome is number 1 in our hearts

The Golden Gate Bridge
The Brooklyn Bridge as well. The spectacle of it isn’t as impressive nearly 150 years later, but at the time it was an engineering triumph.
The Golden Gate is still awe inspiring after 90 years.

The US is credited for inventing the internet. I'd say that's the biggest.
Also, as in the OP, the atomic bomb. Crazy scientific breakthrough.

1) Manhattan Project - The development time is insane.
2) The Panama Canal - After the US took over, they finished ahead of schedule and under budget.
3) The Apollo Space Program

Brooklyn Bridge
It was a huge jump in bridge design and construction. First use of compressed air to excavate (by hand) underwater for the foundations. Also the first case of the bends.
Saw a video of a 100 year old lady where they asked her was the moon landing the biggest event during her life. She said it was the opening day of the Brooklyn Bridge.
