We got ours done at 10. Old enough to take care of them ourselves.

I just don't get it from a practicality standpoint. If you pierce them at 4-6 months you have to keep them clean until the kid is at least 4 or 5. That is a pain in the arse.

But for what? So you can put earrings in a toddlers ear? They pull at all kinds of shite... that is playing with fire. Sounds like a ton of unnecessary bullshite with minimal benefit. Just speaking practically.

I get the whole cultural thing, but please don't lump Latin America in with Mexico. No disrespect to you, your wife, kid, or your truck nuts... but Mexico <> Chile, Argentina or Uruguay.

My niece asked my sister for pierced ears, she's 3. My sister told her when she's ten. She said ok and went back to her swing set and trampoline.

But, I don't know shite...I have pierced ears, a tattoo AND we had a little above-ground pool when I was a kid. I'm just white-trash walking.

you also have to bath them, wipe their arse, clean their belly button, clip their nails, haircuts and clean ear holes. royal pain in the asses.

Right, so why add one more thing that’s unnecessary? You walked right into that.

Got mine done when I was 9 months old. Got my 2nd hole when I was in 5th grade. Stopped wearing the 2nd one a couple years later, and stopped wearing regular earrings in college. As I got older, my body rejected earrings more and more.. no matter how expensive and real they were. It would scab and itch.

Now they're all closed.

Oh - and I had my lip pierced for 1 year while I was 18. LMAO. I was rebelling.

Growing up, I got earrings in my stocking and along with my birthday gifts each year. No idea how I remember this, but I remember the box was a little white box with stars on them.

They were earrings kinda like these

This. Once of the biggest frickin problems in this country today is parents getting their roles confused. The mom is supposed to teach the daughter about being a girl and eventually a woman just as the father is to teach the son about being a boy and eventually a man. If more parents did their job as either mother or father we’d not be dealing with all this “gender-fluid” horseshite.

Yea like the rest of their body. It’s called a bath.

It’s so my daughters know how to identify when they see themselves in the mirror.

Ours had it done at 1. She refused to allow them to be reinserted following a cleaning so they grew shut. Bought hundreds of pairs; now they're used on dolls and stuffed animals.
Shes 8 now and doesn't care a out reading them.
