Guess where the cases are coming from? Not Red epicenters, you are looking at states, not the counties/cities where almost all of the spikes are occurring.
This allows for the duller knives to go "it's all republicans fault...". It's also funny that when pointing to the total deaths no one points the finger at the democratic governors in NY, PA, MN, OR, WA, etc. that essentially committed mass genocide inside nursing homes by forcing hospitals to send sick patients back and not allowing for people in the nursing homes to leave. I'm sure the number is adjusted some now, but at one point over 50% of the deaths from COVID-19 occurred inside of nursing homes. But of course OMB, it's all his fault, go vote for the senile, racist, pedophile because he is a Dem.

I tested positive for the flu in Feb.
Would have assumed it was the China flu if not for the previous confirmation.

How severe was it?

2017/18 almost 12,000 which topped the H1N1 year record. 10,000+ is about average since then but maybe last year was down.

I'm actually hoping people washing their hands for once and wearing masks might actually put a dent in it this year.

It’s pretty clear which way this board thinks the numbers are being skewed, but with the national government being 5/6 controlled by the Right and most states being controlled by the Right, why aren’t the numbers being skewed in the direction the Right prefers?
The media is part of that 1/6, and they push narratives more aggressively, to more people, than the other 5/6’s combined.
The sooner people realize that today’s media is more untrustworthy than politicians, the better off we will be.

How come we aren’t hearing about outraged parents of gunshot victims or survivors of cancer patients eh claim their loved ones’ death certificates say “COVID-19” instead of cancer or GSW?
See above.

Did you know it’s against the law to falsify a state record like a death certificate? Is the State of Florida—controlled dominantly by Republicans—“faking“ 15,000 cases and dozens of deaths per day?
You need to pay closer attention. “Patient with COVID-19 dies” vs. “Patient dies of COVID-19”
Each of the above statements applies to about half of the deaths, yet they are quite different. They both count as a COVID-19 death and the federal money flows in at the same rate for both.
This is where the problem lies.

What do we do for the rest of time when the flu kills 50,000 and fills up hospitals? Including more children than Covid. Guess we have to shut down in the winter every year from now on. The new normal.

Are you implying we should be wearing masks everyday forever? Or that the experts were lying about masks before?
No, he’s not implying that. He’s making the obvious point that with everyone wearing masks for Covid-19, a side effect is that the flu infection rate will be way less.
The experts WERE lying about masks. They have said so, and they have explained why. At that point, masks were in shortage, and they did not want the hoarding we saw with toilet paper to prevent masks from being available to health care workers.

What about ... West Nile, Zika, the brain eating amoeba? Have they all disappeared?

Does not justify the lie, and it’s a big reason why many people have zero trust in the ‘experts’.

Friend is an ER Dr. They were pretty nonchalant about Covid, but she’s already mentioned she’s worried about Flu season combined with Covid.
Shaping up to be a shitty winter.

The deaths are a little overcounted due to the feds paying out more for Medicare deaths due to covid. Before there was widely available testing doctors could diagnose covid just based on symptoms. This lead to a little bit of overcounting in the beginning, but not anymore.

But they are totally straight up 100% truthful about everything now, right?? Whew!!
