I had to replace the knock sensors on my 2000 Silverado at 180 K I just bought a 2018 hopefully it'll last as long the 5.3 is a good motor. I had to replace the waterpump the knock sensors and a new fuel pump other than that nothing. By the way if you have to replace the fuel pump on any of these trucks you can take the bolts out of the driver side of the bed therefore and loosen the bolts out of the passenger side and just lift the bed up and get right to the fuel pump

Whenever I see people reference the number of miles or engine on their vehicle still running as the reason to buy vehicle x over vehicle y, it lets me know right away they don't know dick about cars.
Engines aren't what give you trouble in most modern cars. It's everything else falling apart around them that is the biggest problem, especially with American and British cars. What makes Japanese vehicles so great is that both the engine and the millions of other things around it, last forever.
I love the baws who like to proclaim, 'my Silverado has 250k miles and is still running strong'. That's nice. How many window regulators have you replaced? What about the broken plastic handle on your seat release? Do the louvers on your air condition vents work or are those all broken up too? What about those cracks in your dashboard? Has your tachometer gone out yet? Are the seams in your seat coming apart? I bet they are. Is your headliner brushing your hair for you? Does your sun visor stay up or does it fall into your face? Do all your door handles work?

Another Tundra. My daily is an 08 with 150k on it. Drinks gas, but runs great.

I have a Silverado with 300k miles and have had zero issues with anything non mechanical on it except for the CD player.
I will agree with you in one sense that the engine isnt the first thing to go but comparing window regulators to engines seems kind of foolish in my opinion, every vehicle regardless of make or model will need small things repaired here or there.
Its the big problems (transfer cases, transmissions, engines) that start to crop up in high mileage vehicles so using mileage is a pretty good parameter for judging a vehicle's quality even though all mileage isnt equal.

I owned a Yukon 5.3L... it started knocking at 300K, the dash button graphics had worn off but was otherwise in pristine condition

Taco if you don’t mind a truck with a weak sorry engine.
That doesn't break.

But if you have to buy a ten year old truck with zero warranty, Chevy.
Says no sane person ever! Taco or Tundra are the only answers.

I have a 2006 Double Cab Tundra with 105k miles. I added a Bluetooth mp3 player and installed a backup camera myself just to update it. Plan on giving it to my son in 12 years when he’s old enough to drive.

Only thing on my truck that doesn’t work is the tire pressure system. Batteries are dead in wheels and I’m not paying $120 each for that. Cloth seats no tears. Smells like farts, according to my wife.

Doesn’t have it.
That's why it's still healthy with 320k.

That's going to be a problem for you. Their active fuel management system kills the lifters and eventually blows the camshaft.
You will at some point have a lifter that gets stuck because of this and it happens in 2007 to 2013 I believe (can't remember exactly) but you have to remove the entire top end and replace all of the lifters, sleeves for lifters, gaskets and bolts. Just the parts for that job are $600 and you usually get about 60-70,000 miles before that happens. And then it will happen again. That active fuel management system is just shite.
