Probably less than 5% as catfish farming requires being able to

Be a salesman
Drive an 18 wheeler
Operate tractors/heavy machinery
Do electrical work
Have a good understanding of biology and chemistry related to water quality and the fish themselves

Very few people are that well rounded and to do this job properly takes quite a few years of experience

100%

Now, the man who can do it without going home at night and wanting to blow his brains out - that's a rare breed.

It would be a small amount because I work in a highly specialized field which does not pay a large amount of money for the first few years of work.

In order to do my job you gotta know the right people and stay plugged in.

None of you will ever know who and what I know.

I believe anyone can do any job given good training and time. They may not excel but they can do it. Or they concentrate on the strength of their job.

That's what I do. I'm not good at the day to day but I excel at project stuff so I end up taking on more responsibility in some areas much more than others.

How rare is your job? Are there only a handful of people in the US doing it? Is the community of people doing your job so small that you know everyone who does it? Are there no related fields that could transfer the skills with a small training period?

There are a lot of people on here. Just seems unlikely that there are that few people doing any given profession that you would rule out everyone.

It would be akin to me saying I am a nuclear engineer.

Being a nuclear engineer is a relatively rare job, but there are lots of nuclear engineers out there in the world in absolute numbers. It wouldn't be that unusual to find multiple posting on the internet somewhere.
