They are a necessary evil. And as for as the type of work they do depends on they type of lawyer they are. I am sure lawyers who do patents and trademarks.. things like that.. there is a lot more paperwork involved.
Its the low lifes that look for any little situation they can milk money out of. There use to be this guy who was the carrier guy at work. He went pick up food ordered for meetings, made post offices runs, etc.. He was a "finder" for some lawyer in Baton Rouge. He would get paid a certain amount, in cash, for every person he brought to them.
He would tell us "if you ever get in a fender bender, even if you didn't get hurt, I can get you right". I forgot all of the shite he said the lawyer had gotten people money for, but it makes me wonder how much of companies legal cost are passed down to the consumers.

I once worked for a lawyer (before I was a lawyer) who wanted to sue over someone getting pricked with a rose bush at a store selling rose bushes.
I told her it was outrageous and she literally threw a book at me (this happened a lot TBH). Thankfully she didn't take it.

This is fricking retarded. Everyone who is a citizen of a nation has been effected by lawyers, and the majority of that effect has been negative. So yeah, we're all allowed to have opinions of swine who choose law as a profession.
ETA and by "swine", I mean present company excluded of course. Petti and BB seem like good people.

Nonsense, this is very definition of negligence. Covering a retail shop with thorny rose bushes. Failing to adequately caution patrons of the hazardous display. The emotional distress alone could be in the five figures.
